Within the context of Vajrayana Buddhism, one of the types of mandala representation that we can find is the known as the palace architectural style. This style depicts the palace of a deity. The deity, in our case, Vajrakilya, is the representation of the absolute state of enlightened mind. This deity resides within the palace together with his entourage. His palace is built relating to the four cardinal directions, and their respective qualities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Peace Mandalas are dedicated to the deity Vajrakilaya, who is the main yidam of the Dudjom Tersar tradition. Vajrakilaya is located in the centre of the palace, and his retinue, which is represented by phurbas (daggers) of different shapes, is located around him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
